Pope Benedict XVI did the right thing, twice. In his talk to scholars in Germany he correctly put Islam in historical perspective, describing how Islam was perceived as "evil and inhuman" by a 14th-century Christian emperor desperate for the help of other Christians to defend his country against Islamic conquest. (His fellow Christians didn't help.)
The pope was correct this week as well, to say he was "deeply sorry for the reactions in some countries to a few passages." He clearly wanted to put a lid on the violence without contradicting his earlier remarks. Benedict, reasonably enough, called for reflection to seek the "true sense of his words" about how violence is the wrong approach to faith. Who among us could disagree with that? (A lot of Muslims, to be sure.)

But, according to the Pope and his huge number of fanatical followers, the Pope can not make a mistake. And according to the fanatical followers of Mohamed, he could not make a mistake. So we have two opposing groups, both convinced they are right.
Turns out they are both wrong. Ah well.... -

Pope Benedict XVI proved himself to be another George Bush on the religious front of a war to sustain the existing unjust world order. Actually he is singing an " IN song" that every one is singing since 9/11.

ahem !!!!
Well, glad to see you samnimoo !!!!
Well, so well said !!!! B16 is on an IN song,, as have all of his preceeders.... Some people have a natural gift to be IN while others don't, even if they try. WHILE SOME FEW create the IN business - This could make big contreverse : Who was more gifted than B16 an BabyB ? Nixon? Rushdie (even his name !) ? Berlusconi ? Thatcher ? Henri VIII ? JFK ? Georges ? Isabel la Catolica ? Kilminsoon ? Jesus ? Mao ? Marx ? Giovanni XXIII ? Tito ? .... Ok I quit !
Who can tell this one is wrong and this one is not... Is anyone right ?
My belief is we can only refer to facts.
Let's take fanatism. OK, Walrus ?
Who are fanatics ?
I see rich and powerul as well as poor and desperate people on Pope's side.
THE RICH DEMAND TO PRESERVE AND INCREASE THEIR WEALTH AND POWER.
The poor plead to have life saved and be healed as well as spared by "bad luck"
In this group, in case beliefs be threatened, poor will be sent to sacrifice their lifes...
Take the right from the rich and give food and medicines and instruction to poors... Churches will be deserted.
That I know of. I've seen it !!!
Now, how is it in the other so called fanatics camp ? Little have i seen but it seems to me well fed and instructed persons can give up their life for their belief. What could stop them ? Ther's a big difference there I would like to hear about !
So fanatics A and fanatics b ara all not the same ! except they are fanatics? Fanatics, Isaid ? Or opportunists should i somewhere put ?
Love your place where we can lall learn ! in respect...
samnimoo
Should we consider Suzanne Fields a spokes woman of Christians? Did he write some thing right? The Pope should apologies rather further ridiculing Islam!
