The Public representatives unaware of the problem of Masses

by samnimoo @ 2006-05-09 - 14:56:48

Recently a TV channel interviewed some MPs (Members of Parliament)belonging to different parties, including Pakistan People Party, Muslim League (Q) And N, and Mutaheda Qaumi Moment. They were asked about the prices of different utilities. The answers were astonishing. They didn't know the prices.

It's the same in England; and not just senior politicians either. Even local councillors receive generous expenses and perks such as free travel so they are totally unaware of the actual cost of things.

But Sir there is a difference. In UK there are the opportunities of employment and the prices are affordable for a common man. Here we have had to experience a double hike in price resulting in increase in the crime rate. A few days before a young man snatched my cell phone. i am not holding him responsible for that crime but the rulers are helping widening the gape between poor and richer, the rich becoming richer and poor more poorer.

Hi there!
Prices are not really affordable for the common man here in England it is really over the top how much everything costs!

Politicians are not known for their humility (except for Ghandi), compassion or ability to change things for the better for those in most need.

It may not be as stark as in Pakistan, where I know there is huge amount of poverty and lawlessness in some areas but house prices are not affordable in London for the average man and the division between rich and poor is the worst its been for years in the UK.

If there is a culture divide through out the world as you indicated it so the question raise is how to blam for it. The capitalist. or the Masses of the world who doesnt know what to do. I am pasting below the letter by samina shah below from the same blog.
Capitalizing on immigration

The New York Times (April 15) has quoted the owner of a restaurant, who had fired 10 workers found guilty of attending an immigration rally as saying, "I have no problem with the demonstration, but this is a business. Couldn't they have protested in the morning before work? Couldn't they have protested in their hearts?"

A capitalist like the owner of the restaurant shows concern over things that harm him only. The immigration laws can affect the workers who attended the rally and not the owner, which is why they were out there protesting. I have one question to ask the owner of the restaurant and others like him. Couldn't he just have allowed his employees to take some days off as earned leave?

this is a general problem and it's not due to the common people's earns and wages but to the fact, that politicians don't go shopping (besides they don't have to care about costs too much)
